Who we are. Golf Course Scout (golfcoursescout.com) is operated by Secure Layer HQ ("we", "us"). It lists golf courses and the facts they publish on their own websites.
What we collect. Browsing the site collects nothing from you beyond the standard server logs of our host, Cloudflare, which include your IP address. When a course owner claims a listing we collect what they type: name, email, phone, role, the course, and which of the two consent boxes they ticked, with the exact wording of each. If they answer the optional questions on the thank-you page we keep those answers too.
What we do with it. We use a claim to check that the person runs the course, to put their corrections, photos and tee time link on the listing, and to contact them about the listing. The first box allows that. The second box is optional and unchecked by default; only if it is ticked may Secure Layer HQ contact the owner about marketing offers by phone, text or email, including automated messages, and they can reply STOP at any time.
Who else sees it. The services that deliver a claim to us (email delivery, an internal notification channel, and a database) process it on our behalf. We do not sell your details.
Cookies and tracking. The site sets no advertising cookies. If analytics are added they will be noted here.
How long we keep it. Claim details are kept while the listing is claimed and for as long as they are useful for following up, and no longer than two years after the last contact.
Your choices. Ask us what we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, by writing to chris@securelayerhq.com and saying it is a privacy request.
Course facts. The facts on a listing are published by the course on its own website. A course may ask for a correction or removal through the contact page.
Changes. If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
